Anne and Emmett
Runs Thursday through Sunday March 4 - 6.

OBIE Award winner Robbie McCauley will direct Boston’s first fully staged production of Anne and Emmett. The play, written by Janet Langhart Cohen, is an imagined conversation between two historical figures from opposite areas of the world. Both suffered social travesty; one under Hitler’s regime (Anne Frank), the other at the hands of the Ku Klux Klan (Emmett Till). While their conversation gives us a glimpse at the civil and social mores of their time, it also opens a dialogue as to where civil and social justice is today.
|
McCauley has cast two dynamic actors to play Anne and Emmett. Megan Cooper, a member of Roxbury Repertory will take on Anne Frank, while Jonathan Dent will appear as Emmett Till. These actors, through their strength and sensitivity, bring an honest and compelling edge to the telling of the story. All performances include a talk back.
|
Janet Langhart Cohen is thrilled that the first fully staged production of Anne and Emmett will premiere at Roxbury Community College. She will attend the March 4th production, and participate in the talk back along with the actors, and Director Robbie McCauley.
